formula III 700

Just took my formula III 700 out for the first time 0-80 is vary fast but seems to top out quick a little over 100 i was expecting 120+ clutch engages at 4100 tops out at 7700 it has a long 1.5 track. and the stearing is vary bad a Turing 500fan can take a corner faster than i can. any help with stearing or the top end would be great.

It will rip to 80, top is supposedly 123-25 but doubt it stock. I ran 108 on the 1000 foot and had plenty of rpms to spare. It should be around 8500-8700 but not higher than 9 grand or it could do some crank twistin. That extra 1000rpms will get you well over 100 mph. The steering wont be all the best considering the weight of the sled, having the longtrack, and the handlebars being lower. Its classified by skidoo as a highperformance sled meaning it will go fast and handle but not turn just like a dragster goes fast but cant turn for the life of it. The mxz has the same setup, minus the longtrak, but the bars are raised and it turns way better and is classified as cross-country with better steering and alot better ride comfort. Powermadd makes a bar riser that could help but on these sleds with the recomended 192 studs for standard track and 8-10" carbides on the skis will always make it an armstrong type steering. They used to make an easysteer turnbuckle assembly but i havent been able to find any since the store here sold out. Now they just make an easysteer for the skibottoms. Have the carbs gone over and make sure the timing wasnt off, you should go way over 7700rpms unless the compression isnt there or your r.a.v.e.s or reeds are gummed up.
