I am wondering what a small the black round cylindar is for that was left inside my oil tank when I removed my oil pickup tube and grommett and exactly how it reinstalls?(98 grand touring)

Also what is good to seal the grommett with?

The microfiche does not show any black cylinder object for the oil tank. Any good silicone sealant will seal the grommet up fine.

Is that cylinder possibly the float for the low oil sensor? It should fit on a vertical post in the front left corner of the tank as you look at it from the driving position.
