What do you guys think about a 1998 ski-doo summit-x 670, I know a guy with one for sale with 2500 miles for $1700, not sure if its a good deal or not.

I broke my indy sks and am wanting to upgrade to something that will last me for a while. Anything to look for on the summit to watch out for, problem areas etc.

Went and looked at the sled today, everything on it is in great shape, has closer to 3000 miles on it, the guy that has it put the last 1500 on it and hasn't had a single problem except for a recoil issue that got replaced. It started first pull and hasn't been ridden this year that I know of, so its looking good. Does the $1700 sound like to much or is that about the right price?

I saw what the blue book was on it, everything around here seems to be priced higher than what it books for, Ive seen early 90's sleds that book for under $500 go for close to a thousand. I've never seen book values match up with real world prices, that's why I asked about the price.

I have a friend who has the same sled with over 6000k on it and it still rips. He can hang with all of the zrts of that era! Its a good sled and the suspension isnt to bad for that sled either. If its clean go for it. It should last you if you take care of it. Good luck

98 summit x

I picked one up for 500 in idaho and all was wrong was the fuel line had a crack in it and carbs needed cleaned out. It ran wonderful until the stator plate went out which costs me 350$ it is the funnest sled i have ever owned its got the power to get you out of rough situations

Good price for a good sled. Does it have rebuildable shocks on it? There was a special edition that did, but it might have been a year later.

One issue I know about is the altitude compensator has a plastic tube with hose going to it. Often the nipples break off that hold the hoses. As long as those are in good condition, it should scream.
