Angry 1998 Ski doo summit 670x, having problems with it

I have a 1998 yellow ski doo summit 670x that i baught for $3500, i have had it for a year and havent been able to take it for a full ride yet. The alltitude compensator was taken off because it would not run with it on.

It ran good after that when i went for a couple little burns on it. Now im having a different problem because ill go and start it, and it will start good and idle nice but when i have it half throttle it will rev so high that the skis go off the ground then it will bog down then do the same thing for about 10-15 minutes then after that it runs good but it went through half a tank of gas in 20 minutes which is crazy! Does anyone know what its problem would be?
