97 Formula 500
I've about had it w/ this sled. Every year same thing, difficulty starting. Even if I take it to shop for pre-season tune up, it still takes a lot to start. Worse part is I'm riding and stop for a bit, it doesn't want to start. Some times have to wait a few hours before it will go. Anyone aware of known issues with this model / year?

It has a fuel problem. What have you done so far to diagnose it?

Nothing so far. In the past I've drained all the gas, pulled and cleaned the carbs and put fresh gas in it. I've also taken it to the shop as I couldn't get it started. They basically do the same thing. Doesn't matter as I run into same problem, I ride for a bit, take a short break, then try and ride again. 9 times out of 10 it won't start back up. I get ticked off and just push into garage and try again the next day. Like I said, it does this right from the dealer after they "fix" it.

Pull the blue fuel line off the carbs and pull it over to rule out the pump. If fuel comes out, the pump is good.

It's almost positively a fuel problem. Does it have a primer or choke?

I'll verify the pump tomorrow.
This sled has a primer. From what I've heard (and discovered) there is a delicate balance between flooding it out and just the right amount of juice. Based on past experiences, two pumps when you feel back pressure on the line.

Try unhooking the primer too for a while, it might be leaking.

Correct, prime 3 times. If it doesn't start, crack the throttle 1/4 open and pull again. See if that works.
