Coil has two wires coming out of it, rather than two separate coils.

I have been reading around and I am now almost positive I have points because the wires from the coil go into the engine not through a box. I have also read some things about points and it sounds really confusing and I do not want to mess up the timing, so is there a way I can just clean them that wont have me messing things up.

You can clean them easily.
You will have to take off the recoil and starter cup and fan pulley.
Then you can see the points through the ports on the flywheel.
You can use either a points file or a fine grit Emory board. Use a small screwdriver to lift the breaker open and insert the file. Make only two strokes in and out to clean the contact. Any more and you risk taking too much off and have to reset the gap.
