Mechanical Reverse not engaging

OK

So I installed a mechanical reverse and it will not engage into reverse. I here a tick tick sound when I move the clutches, like the chain is slipping over the middle sprocket assembly, 19 tooth?

Everything seems right, the only part I did not have was the chain slider, ( the one that bolts onto the side of the chain case). Is this a crucial part to have? Does it somehow hold the chain down onto the 19 tooth gear? I am stumped and this is the only solution I can think of.

Thanks in advance.

ok so nobody yet,,,,can I make my own slider? Whats it made from? Anybody here have dimensions of it. I am assuming if its super hardened steel I could make it, tap it width, length etc and put it in place?

Can I still order this? Is it crazy over priced?

Sounds like you're missing the tensioner? OnlineMicrofiche Index will have a picture you can look at to see what you need.
