2001 Grand Touring 700cc?

My family is looking into a 2001 grand touring and I noticed it had a 700cc engine. Where these engines ok because i was surprised to see a 700 out of ski-doo since there isnt really any other models with 700's. Other then that was it a good machine?

That's the same motor as the Mach 1,700 tripple.

All the manufacturers had 700 sleds in that era. Based on my experience if I were looking for a two-up machine in that price range I would not be looking at the SkiDoo 700. Many problems with the crank bearings in that one, both pto and mag side. You may get a good one but I have repaired too many of those cranks to be a fan of that engine.

I spring checked a new 01 700 GT myself...It came with DPM and it would be a BIg + if you can get one with DPM!! great sled !! loved it..itis a twin cyl. I also had the 97 GT 700 triple triple..lol that sucker was fast and silky smooooth !! I believe my 01 also had the heated carbs..can't recall for sure..traded it long ago for a can am 800 Vtwin...I used to work for a ski doo dealer..its a great sled !! Good Luck in your search!! I just bought a used sled yesterday, after not having one for 3 years..no and low snow conditions was the main reason..I used to get a new one each year, as I sold or traded them in..not any more..lol..some of the 01 600's had some problems if you ran low on coolant or got them hot..CanyonDan

.Oh and use a synthetic oil in the injection..amsoil is great too !!
