95 Formula Z Intermittant spark - Snowmobile Forum: Your #1 Snowmobile Forum

I have a 95 Formula Z 580. The spark is intermittant. It will run for about 30 sec and die. I check the spark and there will be none. If I let it sit for a little bit it will spark for a pull or two of the rope and then no spark.
I checked the ignition componants according to the SkiDoo shop manual and everything that I can check is within tollerance. The CDI is the only componant that I cant check. But, with an intermittant problem, its hard to say if things were bad when I checked them, so I thought I would see if anyone else had this problem.....

This might sound dumb but this happened to me, same symptoms. Down by your fly wheel theres a plastic cap, pull that off and you should see the "pick up" sensor. My bracket on mine fractured and broke, and bounced ontop of the fly wheel. And I had the same symptoms. See if it did it to yours. thats my 2 cents.
