Exclamation Rear Shock question...

Ok I got another question. On my Frmula 500, I cranked up the rear shock to the second tolast level before the spring is full tightened up. I store my sled with the rear end hanging up in the air. When I let it down and push down on the rear end. It does not fully come back up, I would say theres roughly 3 inches I can pick it up. I have ALL the joints greased up, and neither of the shocks are leaking in the rear end. Is it time to replace both of them? If so what brand. I have HPG Skidoo non-rebuildable ones up front. That are like brand new, and the rear is still the original. Keep in mind Im not lookin for top end, but I want GOOD quality at a Decent price. Thanks again yall!!

I think that is normal because on all my polaris i can pull it up about 4 inches before the shock is fully extended.

Keep in mind, the springs hold the sled up, not the shocks.

Is the spring wore out?

It could be that it's not as rigid as it was, or the suspension is binding and not letting it come back up.

I have the same issue. I am pretty sure it is the springs, everything is greased up and the guy at the local repair shop said the my shock is good and that the springs hold up the rear of the sled. They are fairly cheap to replace but how hard are they to change??????not sure

skno out

I was told by a dealer its ment to have a atleast a cpl inches of slack. So when the sled goes over a hole or a dip the suspension drops, not the whole sled.
Ive checked this on new sleds too, and they seem to have droop also.
