They have had a few issues with tearing up belts but I have heard nothing of the 800's blowing up engines? Also its the 600 etec's that use very little oil compared to all the other 2 strokes on the market the 800r uses just as much oil as all the other sleds out there.

Most times when you hear of an 800 engine melting down it can usually be linked to the owner making changes with things like pipes and jetting and not properly checking to see that they havent leaned the engine out to far.

well thats a pretty broad statement it may build simular hp but the 4 strokes big disadvantage is its weight. if you look at independent testing the 1200 4stroke runs almost the exact same numbers as the 600 etec. The most bang for the buck is the 800r its light and fast. I chose the 600 etec for its light weight and fuel economy it will be nice to not have to worry about missing a fuel stop.

I wouldnt buy a 4 stroke right now, there over weight yet, and they need huge motors to run with the 2 strokes. According to snow goers mag, alot of the 4 stroke are a slower acceleration. And the two stroke are more of a SNAP of the line, because they rev up so quickly. And whats even sadder, is the fact that the Skidoo 600 etec gets roughly 21 MPG. Thats more than any 4 stroke out there!

I guess the dealer really wanted to unload the 4 stroke. I figured he was full of himself comparing it to a mach z.
