2001 Formula Deluxe Engine tick

Hey. I just purchased my first sled. 01 foruma deluxe 700 with "rebuilt top end". I just brought it home and started it. At idle it ticks..the engine vibrates in the compartment (not terribly for a 2 stroke). If you rev it up there is no ticking. Also...it smells like its running extremely rich. So i'm wondering if the ticking is a problem or if its not getting enough oil. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You usually NEVER have to mess with the oiler. How warm was it outside when you ran it? If it was above 45 degrees or so, it's WAY too warm to run a sled.

Wait for cold weather to do that if it needs it then.
If you do it now, you will just have to redo it again later.

Leave it alone until it gets cold outside.
