Start by making sure that the belt is not too thin (worn).
Then check that it is riding up at the top of the secondary (1/8" of the belt out of the top)
If both of these are right, then check where the spring of the secondary is set (1,2,3,4,5) hole on the outer plate.
As the spring is moved forward or back from the center (#3), the peak engine rpms will go up or down by 2-300 rpm.
At what rpm is the primary (engine) clutch engaging?
Should be around 3400/3800 rpm stock.
