shut down skandic

this is going to be interesting. I am a newbee here and can't wait to get your ideas on my problem. I apologize for being long winded but I want to put you up to speed on what the symptoms are and what I have done to correct it. The machine is a 2005 skandic S wide track with a 552 fan engine. Also I have no testing equipment other than a multi meter. I am a retired S E mechanic and I find that the elec. systems have changed in the last 15 yrs. The sled will run perfect for an hr. or so and then shut down. Just like the key or kill switch was turned off. No hiccup or stagger like a fuel problem just stop. So I figured it was an elec problem. I have started it up and pulled the plugins 1 at a time thinking it was a faulty ign. kill or teather switch prop. during this part of the search I discouverd that when it quits if you are fast you can hit the kill switch when it stops and pull it real quick and it will keep running. If you are not quick enough you can restart with the key and it will fire back up right away. ( about the 1st or 2nd turn of the engine.) Soo bottom line is I have pulled all plugs to switches all at once an it still Quits. O . K. So it has got to be the coil. Replaced it. Still quits. O K went to the trigger coils and stator and changed all things elec there, still quits. Un plugged everything , lights ,oil switch. kill switch ,tether switch, changed rectifier and batt. started it by pull cord. STILL QUITS! All things replaced were known to be good. In desperation I went into the wireing harness and checked every wire and cleaned all plugins. Still quits. From the factory this engine has a reverse trigger coil installed for machines without manual trans. The condition is just like the stopping of engine before going into reverse(running backwards.) And I know that the yellowblack wire and the black wire to ground is the only way this machine shuts down. HHEEELLLLPPP!

I had the same problem with my MXZ. Are you running resistor plugs? You need to. Non-resistor plugs cause interference with your DESS.

So go out and get some BR9ES if you don't have them already
