Question History and Storage

I bought a 98' Mach 1 this past summer from a finance company, they had in for repo. I could'ent pass on the deal, but now the problem is I know nothing of it's history(how it was taken care of, what has been done to it, etc.) I've heard that the 98's had various problems. The sled is running good right now, i've had some minor problems this season, mostly my fault. What kind of things should I be looken for. I've heard engine and wiring problems mostly but nothing specific. The area arould the oil tank, wires back wall behind oil tank and the brake area, is all covered with oil. I don't see a major leak spot, anyone have a idea where it is coming from. And how can I clean up the oil, can a engine degreaser be used safely in such a small area? Lastly what is the best way get it ready for storage in the off season.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me.

Yse, you can use engine degreaser on it. I use brake cleaner also. Clean it all up, then see where it's starting to leak from again 9if it is). It might just have had oil spilled all over when the last owner filled it. 98 Mach Z's had a problem wit hthe wires chafing under the engine, I don't think the Mach 1's had it.
