98 Mach Z 800 Triple

Was riding my sled the other day and it was running fine. Shut it off for a while then got back on. Was riding and noticed that my lights for my hand warmers was really bright and so was the brake light (the one on the dash) when I pressed the brakes. Tryed to turn down the hand warmers and they wouldn't go down. Then, my hand warmers started to melt and my headlight or taillight don't work anymore. Any suggestions, the only thing I can think of is the voltage regulator, but I want to make sure because it costs $141. Thanks.
Craig
