Ok, in trying to find a used sled or tunnel for my 96 formula 500 SL, I am wanting to make sure of the chassis, the guy at the local dealer said it is a (S) chassis, had a question from a member here thed ask if it might be an (F) chassis, sure hate to buy a tunnel and find out its wrong, is there some way to identify what I have? will the serial number tell me? Thanks

Now for the bad I think I sold the my F chassis to a guy in Utah. I won't know until I get home. You never know he might find one between now and then.

Thanks for the link, it is explained and my 96 is a fan cooled 500 and would e the s-2000 chassis, Thanks again for the help

I will end up with an extra S chassis tunnel. I will pm you with details. It might take a while to get it done as internet here is screwed today. Took me an hour to get this far.
