82 citation magneto question

Hi im getting some voltage out of magneto plug coil. how much should i see? i have unplugged the wiring up to this point and im getting small voltage. sled sat for almost 2 years.

There are 2 sets of wires there. Which are you asking about, the lights or the ignition?

Use a spark detector to see if there is enough voltage to fire the plugs properly.
You are looking at a voltage in the order of 20,000 vdc.

I think it should be about 22 vdc.

thanks im getting 2 volts on each and its firing, i found a wire that was piched a grounding to motor. bad gas and plugs i think. had ice in the bowl of the carb. every couple of pulls it will fire. do you think i should still go for magneto or could it be just water bad gas and plugs?

As long as there is good blue spark on the plugs, clean the carbs and put in fresh fuel and try it.
