Take your RAVE covers off, they simply snap off I believe. Pull out the slide and then soak it in oven cleaner liquid, but don't leave it on there too long because it's corrosive. Wear rubber gloves and scrub with a Scotch-Brite until they're clean.

I have 2 Rev's and the RAVE covers come off with 2 bolts(hex head). i think your sled should be the same. Either way be careful not to drop/lose the spring that sits between the rave valve and the cover.Take out the valve carefully making sure not to damage the gasket. I then use spray on carb cleaner to clean the oil deposits and wipe them clean with a clean rag.Have a look down the bore and clean as much of the gunk out as you can with a rag.Put a light coat of oil on the valves and replace. The valve should say "top" on it so you put it back in the same way. Oh yeah...do one at a time.

The process is pretty much the same on any rotax with RAVE. The RAVE valves will effect fuel economy because one that is not working properly will hamper overall engine performance. I had an '03 Rev 600HO and the one valve was so gummed up it was stuck wide open. It made for poor performance and terrible fuel milage.
