2001 summit 600...acting strange

So I think I may have a problem...and am looking for some input. Sled idles a little high when cold 2000-3000 rpm. Run it for a while and after it warms up it idles at 4000rpm and doesnt usually drop. Thing revs at 8000 rpm doing 70kph. Noticed this once, tested it again to confirm and havent taken it out at speed since. Also, doesnt start very well when cold.

Feels like I am driving a car in only second gear.

Bought it from my uncle who is a sled maintenance fanatic. Ridden lots (4500km). But not hard, and just on trails. Hasent been since the end of last winter...drove it during that winter and no problems.

Cold compression was ok (1.25) but warm compression was about 1.15....too low?

Clutch? Air Leak? Bad Seals?

What do you think...?

i would check your carb boots and crank seals, make sure you do not have any intake leaks.
