Burning up pistons

Hi, I am having an issue with burning up pistons in a 98 Formula Z 583. I bought the sled last year at the end of the season and the pto piston had just been replaced. The owner did not say what caused the burn down. I put about 50 miles on it with no problems and put stabil and seafoam in it for the summer. This year it burnt the mag side piston in about 10 miles of riding. Was going across an open field for about 20 seconds wide open when it died. Towed it home and tore it down, replaced both pistons with SPI even though the pto piston looked fine. Also replaced both jugs because they both had horizontal cracks in the sleeves. Showed them to a few people and a salvage yard. Nobody had seen it before or could explain what might have caused it. So bought 2 used jugs and put everything back together. Also took out both carbs and cleaned them, premixed the fuel at 50:1 and fired it up. While letting it warm up it was idleing around 1800 rpms like normal and then jumped up to about 3500. Thought maybe idle screws where changed durning cleaning and opened them about a 1/4 turn and idled back down. Everthing good to go. Went for a ride and never got on it hard and burnt the mag side piston again. Sorry for the long winded post but wanted to give as much info as possible. Any thoughts on what is going on? The sled has about 3600 miles on it. The suspension and track are in good shape and the body is decent shape. Not sure if I should cut my loses and take it to the salvage yard or fix it. Thanks for any thoughts or comments. Thanks, Joe

I would be leaning towards crank seals, or at least pressure check the bottom end to see if it holds air.
