How do I adjust my chain tension?

I have heard tighten by hand and then back off 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Can anyone start me out from "open the hood"? I'm not afraid to tear things apart and figure out how they go back together! But I have never done this and could use some advice. Where do I find the adjusting bolt? 95 MXZ 440

OPEN THE HOOD

right side on back side of the chaincase there will be an adjusting bolt with a hitch pin in it.
tighten by hand and back it off till the pin lines up in the hole.
