1996 Mach Z 780 fuel problem
I"m new to snowmobiling so I go out and buy a real nice Mach Z for a starter sled. The machine is in great shape it has a new 1 1/2 track and Olin's shocks. I did not get an owners manual with it. Today I brought it into my garage to look things over so I turned off my fuel valve while inside. I took it out and it started 1'st pull and was running nice on all three then it started to run poor and the motor stopped. I forgot to turn on the fuel valve. After I got it to start again it will not run on all three again. Is there a trick to repriming the three flat side carbs? I have good spark on all three so I hope mabe there is a trick someone knows to get things going again. Thanks for your time.

Plug fouling
Well I checked all three and I am gutting spark. When you foul a plug will it still spark? I'll try some new ones tomorow. How do you like yours has it been reliable for you? Is it important to not lug or ride this engine at lower speeds. Thanks again.

I really liked mine but recently sold it. I was not using it so I thought someone might as well enjoy it. the big triple did not get reliable until the 99 models. has your engine ever been done? yes a fouled plug will sometimes still spark and yes with stock jetting they will load up at idle or just putting around slowly. hope you have good luck with it.

I'll try to find out history
Thanks Freekshow12 I ll try to find out the history of my Z next week. It was purchested at Compeaus in Fairbanks and owned by an electric company because it has stickers, on it along with Ski Doo racing and #206. It may have some mods. If it ran a little on one or two cylinders will this hurt anything? Will fuel be in my muffler or somewhere?

for short periods it wouldnt hurt it, but you dont want to have it like that for long.see when the carbs were cleaned last. I have mine done every fall like clockwork. mach z carbs sometimes leak a bit of fuel around the needle and seat making them flood out. my mach z had this prob before I sold it,I think it happened because I did not use it for 1 season and all the rubber o rings in the carbs dried out. try the plugs first though and maybe pull the plugs and pull the machine over a few times and that should rid you of the unburnt fuel.
