how many rpms should a 01 mxz 700 turn, it has crank shop pipes stock clutching and reeds. it hits about 81-8200 and then drops down to about 7900. it hangs real strong on the low end but the top end is where it lacks. i was gettin walked by an 04 800 renegade with similar set up

Don't know why no one has replied. I have two 2000 mxz 700's and they both run totally different, with the clutches set the same. The one I have to watch the rpm's, because it'll scream at 9,000( not good for long periods) the other one I'm lucky to get 8200. You can adjust your clutch and give yourself more rpm's, its simple to do and its a trial and error fix. If it doesn't help, you can always put it back to normal.

dont take any offense to this but it shouldnt hang with an 800, if it could there would be no need for an 800 would there??
