I am new to the sport of snowmobiling and was just given a fairly decent 470 ski doo. I have no manual for it and was told it sometimes falls victim to flooding while attempting to start it.

I am looking for information from experienced owners on how many times the primer should be pushed in and out before starting.

I prime all my Doos 3 times before starting it.

3 or 4 on my 670 doo. Just start with two, and pull. If it doesn't fire than do another. Repeat if necessary. Than just remember the number of primes you did for the next time.

Also, you do not need to prime when the machine is warm.

Three times is perfect. I have the exact same sled if its the two-up version and it will flood if you try anymore. Ounce its started though it may start to die, if it does and throttling doesnt work give it another shot of primer.
