Rev- Xp
Anybody heard any details on the new platform coming out next year? I hear it is even better than the rev and lighter too. Sounds like a winner. May be time to sell the Polaris and go all Doo!

there have been two or three threads on the 2008 skidoo's. im sure you can search the forum, or browse the gen sled and skidoo forum to find it.

The New Rev sounds sick. Another 40+ pounds shaved off the existing model. The rest of the brands can't compete with that. It should be the best ditch banging sled on the snow next season.

According to All reports its going to be super light. Its supposed to be 40+ pounds lighter then the existing model. So if your Rev is 435 the XP will be under 400 pounds. Which is sick to think about with the kind of HP the Revs have.

I rode one last week. Lower, ligher, more comfortable, faster, the SC-5 is amazing, 800R rocks. I opened it up on the trail and saw 110 mph on GPS, and it wasn't that long of a straightaway.
Seating position is just like older REV, but your feet are about 8" forward. Very comfortable.
Now if they'd put a 130-140 hp 4-stroke engine in it, and price it at about $6-7,000 US, I'd buy one. I'm keeping my old 97 Mach 1 until they do..

just from a price point I think you will be taking your mach to heaven with you then. J/K. I am going to ride it in a couple weeks. have heard lots of good stuff. so far anyway. I just worry that they cant get the 800R to run long enough to run it in all lines.

That's fine with me. The old Mach still runs like a champ. Just over 8,000 miles. But since they don't make parts for my sled anymore, I know there's going to come a time when I break something and the local junkyards aren't going to have the part I need...
Sure the REV X 800R that I rode was nice, but I just can't justify spending about $11,000 on a sled that I ride maybe 1,500 miles a year. (at least that's as close of a guess on the retail price I could get from the guys at the Demo ride..)
I guess I will just have to appreciate what the REV XP will do to the REV chassis resale value...
The demo model that I rode had 14,000 miles on it. They wouldn't elaborate on how many rebuilds that it took to get it to run that far....

Of course. I have been snowmobiling for over 20 years now. I've owned 700 and 800 triples for the last 10 years now, including a Price 1000 powered 96 Mach Z I used to own.
Both my GPS and the gauges on the REV XP show max speed. The REV XP I rode had the deluxe gauges where you can hit a record button, ride, then play it back later. The one I rode didn't have the GPS in the gauges, but it will be available as an option on the '08s.

We had one come to town and my boss got to drive it for 30 miles. I dont know what they did to it but wow was it fast. They got the gps on it and clocked it across the lake at 127 mph. It was very hard to keep th ski's down. Its an unbelievable sled and to make things even better its getting approx. 25 mpg. Hes got one on order already.
