How do the spark plugs look? Wet and oily black? If so it may be jetted too rich. Or maybe the chokes are sticking. Ever foul the plugs on it?

nope its not fouling plugs and its got the auto carb adjusters on it, and the chokes arent sticking.. I run regular pump gas in it, 87 octane.. maybe with the can it will open it up and let it breath better, I think the stock muffler before had too many baffles in it so it cut down on the power and used more gas

how much fuel are we talking? is your vent line siphoning fuel out without your knowledge? are the carbs needle and seats leaking past pushing fuel out of the overflows? if the sled is running good, you may want to check other places for fuel loss rather than consumption.

I run it wide open alot across lakes and striaghtaways, so maybe i should stay off the trottle more, but i dont smell any gas anywhere leaking out...Id say its drinking a 1/2 tank every 30 miles which is 5 gallons out of 10 gallon tank right? pretty bad.. and it runs fine and everthing...

Use the best fuel you can buy at the sation. On mine I was told there is a sensor that will limit the power on lower octanes. I have no idea on a 01, but use the better fuel.

Check your fuel lines for leaks, check your floats and needle valves too to make sure they're closing properly.
