how to change brake pads

Hey, i have a 95 grand touring, 470 with reverse. How do i change the outside pad, near the gear box? the other i was able to do. do i have to remove the gear box?

the chaincase must be removed from the sled to get at the outside brake pad.

is that only two bolts holding that on, i cant see the bottom due to the belly pan, i dont want to take it off and wreck something, it has happened to me before, as my wife knowes..lol. i loosed two bolts and it did not seem to budge to slid out. am i doing something wrong?
