97 mxz 670 flooding

I have a 97 MXZ 670 that is very temperamental. If you are at any kind of angle on a hill it floods. You have to pull & pull get it started, then of course it is all loaded up at that time. I have looked at the floats and they seem to be at the right level. Any suggestions?

could be your float needles and seats letting fuel leak by even thought the float is positioned right.

So it's fine when you're not on a hill? Like say running on a lake?

Are you sure your floats are set right and moving freely?

I will double check everything in the carb, I have cleaned them a few times over the years & it has just been prone to doing this. I didn't no if it was common with the MXZ 670.
I had a 670 summit before and it wasn't as finicky. But it also had the high altitude compensator on it.

thanks for the help..

The needle/seat is probably the problem.

sticky seats /needle issues.. if it does flood"" can you hold throttle Wide open and pull it two or three times to get it fired again?? sometimes the 670 HO carbs boils when you ride them hard for a long period. then actually what your getting is no fuel to refire the sled so it seems flooded.

I'm having a similar problem with my 93 mach 1. I can get it up and running but if I shut it down for 10 minutes or so it acts like it's flooded. I can hold it WFO and pull and it will fire up but I shouldn't have to do that! How do I know if the floats are funcioning properly? How do I check the needle valves for sticking?

You need a pressure tester to test the needle/seat. They should hold 5lbs pressure when the carbs are upside down.
