buying a gsx-500ss from a rental company

Hello,

I am looking into buying a 2006 gsx-500ss from a company that rented snowmobiles. The machine looks to be in mint condition with only 1200 miles on it. Do you think there is any concers buying a machine that was a rental? Please let me know your thoughts.. or what I should look out for.

thanks!

There could be mainly because rental companies will rent to anyone. So a newbie could've done some damage. Just look over the entire sled and if you want bring a friend to help you....if you find anything wrong that should drop the price. Here's a link to a guide that will help you look for possible problems and some things you may not think of.

be careful. people like to beet the crap out of rentals. look it over really good. it has low mileage so it shouldn’t be to bad. dont be afraid to walk away. good luck with it.

Was it from a company that does guided tours or just rents and lets you do what you want with it. If it's from a tour company it will be nice slow trail miles. Rental company's tend to maintain their sleds well because they don't want the things breaking down and all usually dealer maintained. You should be able to tell quite easily at first glance how this thing was treated, but there is always exceptions!!

Good luck with the sled hunt!
