98 formula 583 brakes lock up as soon as the engine gets warm even caught on fire! bleed the system and the brakes and they will release. then lock up againg within a few feet of riding regardles if you touch the lever. cleaned the caliper and sanded the piston with scotchbrite. still same problem out of ideas. can u help me?

have you taken the piston out of the caliper and checked it? clean it up, make sure its still round, no scars in it. also check to make sure your rotor is not really warped. excess heat would cause both things.

The piston should not move unless you apply force on that lever. Make sure the disc isn't warped.

Make sure the brake hose isn't messed up also. I've seen brake lines that contracted on the inside and messed with the brakes.
