New sled?

Well, I was just toying with the idea of a new sled, and I found one that I like, and it's really close to me. He wants $3,500 for it, which I think seems a little high, but I'm gonna get your opinions.

eBay Motors: 01 Ski Doo MXZ w/ 136 in. trk and many upgrades - fast! (item 280057912787 end time Dec-17-06 19:30:00 PST)

I'm going to look at it tomorrow after work.

Start it up and see if you can even get a short run across the yard to know if there are any problems and then offer 3200.

Just a suggestion you dont live far from one of the best snowmobile auctions in the country. I was there a few weeks ago and know for certain you could find a much better sled for the money. They sold an 04 600ho rev with 1700 miles for 3,250.00 and I bought my daughter an 02 600 edge for 2,400.00

here is the link to the auction Snowmobile Auction White Star, Bronson Michigan

Price seems high, plus there is a lot of stuff done to it. Pipes ,reeds, pistons, cyl sleeved, I like a reliable sled to just start up and ride, id keep looking. ive seen sleds like this before there always getting worked on while everyone else is waiting to ride. Then you become ""THAT GUY"" the one nobody calls. Just a thought.

You can check out NADA or KBB for a general idea of price. Shoot for 5-10% below low retail from a private seller.
