Arrow Suitable Mods For a 1997 MXZ 440?

Hey Guys, I'm picking up my 97' MXZ 440 (Twin Carb. Fan Cooled). And I'm wondering what some good mods would be? Please suggest some cool mods, I was thinking to get A cool looking windshield, Perhhaps a New exhaust or Can would be good? Thanks alot for the info. I'm looking to spend about 300$

That sled is great just how it is, why mod it when you've never rode it. I would suggest getting some miles on it and see if there is anything you think would make your ride more comfortable or suited to your riding style before buying a new windsheild that will perform the same or worse than that one. OR save the 300 for gas, oil, saftey gear, or a reserve for maintenance.

I agree, that sled is sweet the way it is........don't go messin' it up!! Uncle took great care of it for a long time, so you should do the same. BTW - It will keep it's value better if it remains stock!!

Since it's the consumer 440 and not the race 440 you might look at changing the gearing (droping teeth on top gear + new chain = quicker acceleration) and a clutch kit.

I don't know 100% that the gearing is diff. between the two sleds

IRS is right people don't like to buy a sled with a bunch of mods. With the shap that sled is in it won't lose much value over the next year or two. If anything buy gear. A good helmet, suit and boots will make your snowmobiling experience alot more enjoyable if you don't already have them!!
