Unhappy Mach 1 Problems Please Help!!

I have a 97 mach 1. Recently I took the carbs off and cleaned them and put them back in. I had it running for a while and now about a week later i can't get it started at all. Every time i try to start it and it doesn't work i take the plugs out and they are all wet. I clean them with carb and choke cleaner dry them off and put them back in. (They are last seasons plugs.) but it still doesn't start. I'll leave the plugs out and pull it over to see that i do get spark. It just seems like every time i put them in the sled they get to wet to fire when i pull it over. Any ideas would be greatly apprecited.

Put NEW plugs in it. Did you reset the float heights, etc when you cleaned the carbs?

Try putting new plugs in. I wouldn't be surprised if it fires right up. You may have fouled the plugs

what do you mean reset the float heights? I'm sure i didn't though. all i did was take them apart, spray them with carb and choke cleaner and put them back together. Also most of the gas is from last season. I put about five gallons of new stuff in recently, should i drain the tank and put all brand new gas in.

Won't hurt to have good fresh fuel!! Drain the old stuff out & put it in your car....no wasted gas that way!!

Next time you have your carbs apart, don't just spray them with carb cleaner. Clean out the main jet, set the floats, and make sure the needle valve is seating and releasing properly. Also stabilizing your gas in the spring will help it fire up in the fall. New plugs are a must.

Use compressed air to blow out all the holes, jets, etc in the carb also.

What did you mean about setting the float heights in this post???
When I look at the microfiche of this carb, it looks like the little post on the float is supposed to be down...is that right? I've never heard of setting the float height.

With the bowl off, turncarb upside down. When the float is at rest it should be parallel with the carb body. If it is not you must bend the tab until it is. When it is apart and you are looking at it you will see how it works.
