2004 800 MXZ Extended Track - Overheating

My friend bought a 2004 MXZ REV 800 that had been extended to 136' with a deep lug track. He is having problems with the machine overheating. We have tried Redline Water Wetter and it does not seem to do the trick.

Has anyone run into this problem? What's the best way to correct it?

I'll assume you're talking about the mxz renegade.
How quickly is it over heating? The thermostat may be broken in the closed position.

What kind of conditions is he riding in? If he's riding out on the grass than what the heck do you expect?

Is there enough coolant in the sled?

No, it is not the Renegad version. It is the short track that has had an extension installed on it. We are riding in the Tahoe area so it is not always possible to keep it in the powder (sierra cement). This has only come up because we are starting to prepare for the up and coming season. Want to make sure everything is tip top when the snow hits.

longer deep-lug tracks will always cause overheating in limited snow conditions. If you're running in low snow for most of the ride you might consider a smaller-lug track or some ice-scratchers. Or stop every few minutes and throw snow on the heat exchangers

I use ice scratchers on my Mach 1 when needed. Keeps it nice and cool.

03 04 mxz short tracks had a smaller exchanger, especially if you went with a bigger track or long track. I found an 05 exchanger to use when I take the beavertail off of my 03 this year(if I keep it)
