Loose steering on '00 MXZ 700

I just bought this sled last week, I was looking it over again today and it seems that there is a bit of play in the handle bars. How can I tighten that up?

As shawny said replace the bushings in the steering "thing". There's generally a little bit of play in the bars. If it's really bad than replace the bushings, but don't freak out because it may not be as bad as you think. On both my sleds there's a good half inch to an inch of play in the bars.

Thanks guys.

I will see how it is when I actually ride it. It probably isn't too bad. I'm sure my Indy was probably worse. Just want to make sure everything is tip-top before the snow falls.

Check all your tie rod ends also. Too much play may make it dart on a groomed trail. My sled has only 1500 miles and there is about a 1/2 inch of play in the bars.

all sleds dart on the trails will stock skis. play in the steering makes it just more prone to darting

Too much down pressure on the skis will also contribute to the "darting" problem.
