All great sleds. I would chose on the basis of mileage and condition. Although it's always nicer to have a newer vehicle. Triples have tons of power but are also heavy and horrible on the petroleum. I would personally look into the 700-800 mxz's. I'm assuming you're a beginner so power might not be the best thing for you, and will probably end with you eating a tree. I've been riding since I was 12 (19 now) and find my 600 has plenty of power for me. I also LOVE the look of the 2000-2002 mxz's although I hate those damn ugly beaver tails on the 2003's.

They are all great sleds. I love the look of the Olympics edition! I think the biggest differences you'll find is the years. 98 had mechanical reverse, 99 had electric, etc.

I have a 99 MXZ 600 and it does pretty well for itself. The rear suspension is pretty harsh for trail riding but it loves to nail the bumps. If I were you I would aim for a 2003 mxz 800 with the VR Shock. My buddy has on and it's an awesome sled to ride. Very comfortable. It Almost as fast at my 2006 mxz adrenaline.

If you can snag a REV chasis sled you will absolutely love it once you get used to it. I don't like the triples because of the chasis and suspension setups.

I haven't had a problem with the 99 or 03 that my friend rides. Just make sure you look it over and check out any wear. When you buy one make sure you clean the carbs
