1999 Mxz 600ho
I am looking at buying a 1999 MXZ 670HO and was wondering if they are a good sled to buy. Is there anything that I should look for in particular? If I bring a compression tester, what is an ideal compression range? Thanks,

Great sleds! Compression should be above 120psi. 130 or above would be ideal.

Great sled! I have the exact same one which I bought last season and the thing blew my mind. I dropped a tooth on the top sprocket and the thing rips off the line. A perfect number for compression to look for would be 150psi in both cylinders. 130 and up is alright with no more than 10psi difference between the two cylinders. It's a high output motor and needs premium (91 octane) fuel. Don't go cheap and ruin the motor!

You need to run premium fuel if it is around 130? I thought you had to only run premium once you get over 150-160? NOt that its a really big deal anyway.

BRPforlife, do you mind if I ask what you paid for it? This guy wants 2800 for this one, it has 5000 km on it.

Ideally the compression should be 150! On the gas cap it will tell you to run 91, and I'm not one to go against the manufacturer. It's up to you really, but it will run a hell of a lot better and there's no risk of knocking!

I bought mine from a dealer (I preffer buying from dealers). I paid 3500 canadian after taxes with 9000 km's on it. If there's no problems than 2800 is very reasonable. Where abouts are you located?

2800 is a good price for that sled. I would definately jump on it if there's nothing wrong with it. Have you seen it yet?

My riding buddy had one until he rolled it! It was a great sled. In my opinion one of the best looking out there. It's nowhere near as powerful as the 670HO, but it's a great trail sled and if you're a novice it will be more than enough power for you. I would personally take the 600, it looked better, was better on gas, and was a more comfortable ride. Plus the thing sounded AWSOME stock!
But if you pull up beside my 670 on the lake don't even think for a second you have a chance

They're similar looking sleds, but the 2000 has much nicer graphics and lines in my opinion. The square headlight on the 670 looks like crap, while the 2000 has a much nicer contoured headlight. Go to google images and type in 1999 mxz 670, or 2000 mxz 600 and you'll see what I'm talking about

Oh yes, i see what you mean. The 600 is also a lot closer to me, so i will have to get the details of that one. Hopefully the kms arent too high.
