I've got a 98 'Z. I love the power these things have. They were famous for stators frying on them, and it's true, mine cooked at the end of last season. But the power is awesome!

VERY simple. You can do it with the engine still in the sled. The hardest part is getting the exhaust out of the way. Then remove the recoil and flywheel. It's right there. You can tell when the stator is going,The tach starts to work erratically, and the grip warmers don't get hot.

Had that happen to my XC on the last trip but im getting it fixed. No doubt those Z's got some power. Triples can be trouble. But if you take care of them then you will be fine. GL with the sled.

A lot of people don't like triples, but I own 2 of them. They are a great sled.
