first off-Welcome to the forums!
There's a few other threads on this sort of thing, and the track is a major part of it, but it usually becomes a spiral of things that you keep doing to squeeze every last bit of power and floatation out of it. With a bigger track and some good clutching you will be able to stay afloat and do alright. And since it's a lighter machine it actually works to your advantage only having a 500. Don't put a lot into it though. Once you get bitten by the mountain/boondocking style riding you'll end up just getting a purpose-built machine. And if you don't like it make sure you save the old parts so you can go back to flat-landing like most of these other guys
