I bought 94 formula z 583 for parts motor runs bought doesn't stay running unless keep priming it but still dies i cleaned the carbs they where pretty bad and noticed main jets where 380 and 370 and stock says 360 on both so put bigger one on the mag side and it has dual fuel pumps but guess they quit so he put new fuel pump that feeds both carbs instead of getting 2 fuel pumps what could be the problem and checked compression pto side was 150 and mag was 130 why would it be so high on that one side could it be getting excessive amount of oil so it's almost like doing a wet test? Any ideas let me know i plan on putting motor in a different sled once I get it running properly
wow, what a confusing sled. Later 583's only used one fuel pump. In fact, my 1995 583 has the 2nd pulse nipple just capped off with a rubber cap and clamp.
Then the online microfiche shows 340-350 for the jets, but also list the 360.
My Manuel says has duel fuel pumps in the 94 formula z and my buddy few years back had duel fuel pumps in his 94 and iv owned 2 670 and they both had single fuel pumps unless Mach 1 670 had duel fuel pumps
I checked compression again and was 120 both sides so guess he had oil in the cylinders and the gauge would slowly go down on each side would that mean crank seals
