I just purchased this sled. I really like how it handles but the rear suspension is a little harsh in the bumps. I've done a bit of reading on the various adjustments but don't want to start messing around with it too much because I'm happy with the way it rides otherwise and don't want to screw that up. Is there a simple adjustment that I can make to soften things up a little or is that just the nature of the beast with this rear suspension? I believe it's just the SC10.
write down current setting change one at a time til your happy. if all else fails you can at least go back to where ur at now. I know mine I was middle on torsion semisoft on spring/shock and soft on the other block
I'd start with the rear spring tension. Just soften it all up and check it out, if it doesn't bottom out very often, then leave it. If it does, tighten it up one step.
I just had a closer look at the rear suspension. The limiter straps are completely slack and the rear end sits really low. Should the limiter straps not have some tension on them? At least no slack? What would be causing the rear to sit so low? There is a quite a bit of sag under it's own weight.
First off, have you had the skid out and cleaned and lubed all the pivot points?
Any suspension that is not maintained will not perform well if at all.
I haven't had it out but I can see that it was well taken care of by the previous owner. I can see grease at all the grease points. Part of the problem I was having is there was a build up of ice in the tunnel and the spring blocks were set too light for my weight. I've got it on the stiffest setting now and it's better. I'm going to try moving it down one to see what the difference is with that. I'm also thinking about a SC10 II or SC10 III swap but I'm not sure if it's worth the money for the amount I use the sled and where I use it. If I was to find a complete suspension at a good price I'll probably do it.
