Clutch Help Please

I just got done redoing a 96 SLS with a new motor, sc10-III suspension, gear, track, and a ton of other things. Anyway, I went down 2 on the top gear from 25 to 23 and something doesnt seem right. its great out of the hole (especially with the 1-1/4 track) but it seems like the clutches max out to fast and it feels like it bogs the motor down. I have no idea how or what to change but I know something needs to change. Can someone point me in the right direction as far as where to start, who to call, or anything?

Thanks a ton.

PS I have seen a lot of posts about putting a sc10-III in a s-chassis sled. re-drill the rear mounting holes ahead 5/8 of an inch a bolt it in. i had it in pretty fast and smooth. it is a bit tricky to get the mounting holes lined up because the sc10-III seems to be preloaded.
