carb mods

I have a 2002 mxz 700 with 40mm mikunis and i was looking to do some inexpensive modifications. I saw an ad in snowtech for some aftermarket slides for the carbs that claim to add 1hp per 100cc for only $30. I was wondering if anyone knows if adding this product would cause a need for the carbs to be adjusted and if this hp gain is accurate.

Never heard of those before. How do they work?

It appears as though it is just a replacement for the existing slides. I think the slides are also called throttle valves.

here's what they look like

This link actually answered my question anyways.
