1 comes from the engine crank-case (pulse line)
1 comes from your fuel tank (in)
1, 2, or 3, depending on engine go to your carb(s) (out)

Usually use 1/4" ID plastic/vinyl hose. Make sure you clamp each connection...can use small tie-wraps or safety wire (wrapped twice around).

There ahould be arrows on the pump body that show which way the fuel flows through it. Is it round or square?

here's a pic of fuel pump off my '96 XLT. I'm pretty sure you have the same.

the hose at the top of the pic should hook up to fuel tank

the hose in the center hooks up to the crankcase

The hose top left goes to the mag side carb

The hose middle left goes to the center carb

the last one goes to the PTO side carb.

I hope this will help
