Did you try cracking the throttle a bit while pulling the rope? On all of the three Edge sleds I had, that was necessary to get 'em to start when they were warm.

i figured out that it was flooded with the the cylinders and pipe filled with gas. drained and fired right up. now do i want to tackle the carb or take it in.

Two reasons the case fills up with gas; first is the inlet needle/seat(s) are stuck open in the carb. Second is a hole in the fuel pump diaphragm. Neither are difficult to repair. You don't have to disassemble completely to get to the inlet needles. There is a thread on taking apart the TM Mikuni carbs in the "snowmobile how to's" section of the forum.
