Please help me with the carburator settings on my 1995 XCR 600.
We have purchased a manual and the carb. settings do not work.
The machine will not run at all now.
Snows coming (minnesota) and I am stressed out to get it going.

The manuals wrong?
even if you used another sled manual other then yours, most carbs have basicly the same settings.

you getting gas to the carb?
pull the gas line off the carb, give it 4 or 5 pulls and see if you get any gas pumping put the line.

have you done anything else to the sled?
give us more detail.

Gas is good. It will run but not for very long.
It ran before I messed with the carb. (if it works, don't fix it)
Do you know a website where I can access carb settings, or do you have a suggestion.

start by adjusting the floats, to the measure the manual says.
then seat the air screw, turn it in all the way (LIGHTLY SEAT), then turn it out 1 and1/2 turns out.
Idle screw, look down the bore and turn the screw till the throttle body just lifts off the base about a 32nd.
try that and see what happens.

Are all of your carb slides synced? It is easy to have one
hang up in the bore of the carb.

Make sure your choke plungers are working in unison.

You may want to make sure your floats and needle seats are installed correctly.

every thing is working ok. do you know where i can find the correct carb adujstments? a web site perhaps.

as far as finding settings for your sled, good luck.
Ive searched for materail in the past with not much luck.

you have a CLYMER manual or the dealer service one?

i have a clymer manual.

it says that the pilot air screw should be turned out 1.0 turns.

i did as it said and the amount of air that the carbs are pulling is obviously different and to correct this imbalence the screw settings are very different

so all carbs have been cleaned. no change

i have spent a lot of time trying to get them in sync

will idle, but when gas is applied it boggs down and dies

Did you adjust the floats as the book said?
if yes,
while its idling can you pump the throttle quickly and have the motor rev up the RPM's while your doing that?
yes?
Too much air and not enough gas or just not getting the gas for the demand.
try turning the air screws in a 1/4 turn while running, see what happens.
is there any cracks or dry rot in the rubber of the carb mounts to the engine?
Check your lines going into the tank, as well as the pickup in the tank.
do you have an inline fuel filter, old, new?
old, try blowing through it as the arrow points.
Hows the gas line going from the diaghram to the crank, check it replace it if you can. gas lines cheap, its the simple things that will get ya somtimes.
when was last time the diaghram was changed or rebuilt?
rubbers might have gone bad.

try these and see what happens.
