Re: 1993 Indy XLT - looking to buy

I just got a 96 xlt with no reverse a month ago

I was going to install reverse but decided it's not worth it

I have not once ever needed reverse yet.

My problem is that where I want to park it, in between two buildings, the best way out is backing up on my tracks.
So it probably does not have reverse.

It prob. Does not. Some did, idk what year they started to. If it doesnt say (assuming its an online post youre refering to) ask the poster. If it doesnt say it likely doesnt

so right, if it did It would say. It is a Craigslist post.
I borrowed a trailer and it got stolen, so Im looking to get one back but with a sled on top, it seems to be a better deal. Give back the trailer and ride the sled this winter.

You can buy dollies with wheels so you can spin the sled 180°. As long as the snow is shoveled out of the way

I also own a 93 XLT, but mine is the XLT SP, and it does not have reverse. I aksed about having it installed, and the shop said if it doesnt have it, dont bother. I also asked about electric start...they said the same thing, don't bother. Mainly it came down to cost....the parts alone for either would cost about $800-1,000, then you have the labor to have it installed. Honestly, putting them on dollies with wheels is the best way to go if you don't have a trailer. JMHO.

Unless you can find someone parting out a machine with these components! Good luck, they go fast (reverse especially)

I sold a brand new in the box Polaris reverse kit for the wedge sleds for $200 in a matter of minutes. They go like hot cakes

I will figure it out without reverse. I just need it to be reliable.
Is there any diference between a 93 XLT and a 94 XLT, the seller is not sure.
How much is a not perfect but solid running 93 0r 94 XLT.
