92 500 sp problems

Well I picked up this 92 sp 500 for cheap and in nice shape. The guy who owned it said his dad had started it and it ran for a few minutes but then it quit. I'm just wondering where to start looking on this sled as this efi system is new to me. I have a new battery I will be putting in and working on it tonight. I was just curious on how it could run for 2 mins then quit and not start. I was thinking battery.

Well got to work on it put a new battery in checked spark has good spark poured gas down the cylinder started right up. Then I moved to the fuel line I turned the back filter around before the pump. Didn't check the metal one. Turned the key I get a click. I feel the fuel pump. It feels like its on but there's no fuel to the rail. I am wondering if there's anyone who knows where I can get a used pump or possibly one off a auto that'll work I know a Nissan maxima fuel filter will work.

Unless you pull it over, the pump is not going to run once it has pressurized the rail.

Yup. I pulled the line going to the rail and there is no fuel coming out every time I pull it over. I do know I hear a click then I felt the pump it seems to vibrate like its running then a click when the rail is suppose to be pressurized and then a click every time I pull it to keep the rail primed. But like I said no fuel from the pump. Ima pull the second filter and see if fuels at least getting there before the rail tonight after work.

It's also possible that the pump itself has lost it's prime.

I wouldn't doubt this one bit. How would I go about priming this pump? Take some fuel and dump it into the pump?

Actually, often if you reverse the polarity [connect directly to battery with cables] so that it runs backwards it can clear itself.
Then plug it back in and it should prime the rail.

Well went to prime it by a bump of a battery to find out the pump itself is locked up. So I sprayed pb blaster in it and let it sit came back out and bumped it to find out it turned but sounded slow and it squeeked as it turned. And then nothing on the last bump. So now I am in need of a pump. If anyone knows where I can get a good used pump or possible a fair priced new pump thatd be great.

It should be a Mitsubishi pump [maybe], take it to an auto parts store and see if they can cross reference it.

Finally found a used one on eBay. Supposably works. We will see when I get it. If it dosent then off to the local auto parts store. Ill keep the forum informed.

Well put this pump on, Started great and ran great. Nice a preppy I was impressed. I decided to see if the idle would drop it was idiling at 4 grand. So it was out there idiling. It dropped off and then it quite and wouldnt start. I put new plugs in it. And it started but after aaaaa lot of pulling. And it wouldn't move it would just Bog and every now and then I could catch it and it would rev great then just bog again. I'm lost. I know the fuel rail is getting fuel i pull the return hose and it sprays gas out the pressure regulator. Any help is great. Battery is fully charged. No error codes. Thanks
