Hey just wondering if there is any other type of oil that can be used in an 800 rmk with VES that is safe?

Pretty much any oil that meets the manufacturer's specifications for oil will work to protect the engine. Some oils foul the VES valves less than others. I have used Amsoil, Blue Marble, and Polaris gold, all with good results.

Red Line is what I use, it's good oil, and relatively well priced.. Not cheap you understand, but.. not a huge amount either.

I use this oil and find that once the engine is up to operating temperature there is very little smoke from the exhaust. That's got to be good for the VES.

I am going to try the Shell Advance Ultra in my IQ600 Shift and my Yamaha SRX700.
